Our Mission

Our main mission is to provide a variety of vocational, social, health, and recreational services that fulfill the interests and the necessities of people with disabilities and members of the community in general.

The diverse programs and services that we offer provide access to information and opportunity geared towards acquiring individual independence, generating personal growth, bettering one's health, and creating enriching experiences.

Would you like to help?

Fundación Amar is always in need of volunteers.

Volunteers are needed for various jobs like…

· Providing assistance with vocational skills. Vocational skills include, baking, sewing, craft construction, reading and writing. In addition to assistance with vocational skills, volunteers are encouraged to create engaging and enriching games and activities, which aim to improve the motor coordination and imagination of students.

· Marketing, publishing and computer skills. Volunteers with good marketing skills are needed to help spread information about the mission of Fundación Amar and its products. Volunteers with good computer based skills can help by improving our website and the way information is transferred to the greater community and world.

There are also other ways you can help by…

· Purchasing our products. The products produced are handcrafted items made my students of varying abilities in a collaborative effort.

· Purchasing products from the bakery. Products produced are breads, cookies, cakes and other baked goods.

· Making a donation. Fundación Amar accepts any type of donation, large or small. Donations contribute to funding additional services like Tai Chi for students and funding the construction of equipment for persons with physical disabilities.

Our Programs

1.) Pre-vocational evaluation and training for people with physical, mental, and sensory disabilities.

2.) Occupational training for people with disabilities in:
a. Bakery and cake shop
b. Wheel chair, walker, cane, crutches, and therapeutic equipment manufacturing

3.) For the general community, especially senior citizens, services such as:
a. Medical consultations
b. Alternative medicine treatments, such as thermo-massages and magnet therapy
c.Therapeutic gymnastics and yoga classes

Continued Training:
-Arts and crafts classes
-Nutrition, vegetarian cooking, and first aid classes for the general community
-Training and industrial placement of disabled persons in administrative and service positions.
